Sunday Shoes: Spring Combat Boots

As I was cleaning out my apartment I discovered I have a rather lot of shoes. Miss Sal from Already Pretty has a series called Sunday Shoes. I've decided to share them to remind myself why I love them, the stories behind them and as an archive of the ones I've had to say goodbye to.

Zipper combat boots from Spring

In the bitterly cold Canadian winter of 2011 I needed a pair of flat and hardy boots to take me to and from work. I never expected that I would feel so powerful and awesome in these boots but I sure did!

Last day of work

My last day at the Diner I brought my camera and we had a grand time capturing another crazy Saturday of work

First up: 5 burger challenges. No big deal. Men (mostly) have 14 minutes to eat 5 burgers, bacon, 3 buns and a side of chilli fries. It's a lot. It's tooooo much.

The diner dress:

Why are children so messy???

The dreaded bookings clipboard. No booking no seat! Such power!

And then after work my pals went out for drinks. HURRAH!

Today I am thankful for the good times and the people I met at this fun job... I will miss you.

Today I am thankful for new friends who teach me new things. And giggle with me!

Secret Tattoo

A month ago I got a new tattoo... It was a secret. I didn't tell anyone, not even the Gentleman Caller as he was away for a work. (ok I might have texted my cousin)

A tattoo for family. A tattoo for love. A tattoo for celebration.

I'm not going to lie. This one hurt. A lot. Especially up towards the top of the blue balloon. I couldn't hold a conversation with the artists while holding my breath.

I love it. I love how it peeps out the top of my bathing suit. I kinda want to just look at myself in the nudes!!

Today I am thankful for art that I can wear for all the days!

Facebook status updates when I didn't have internets

If I had any internet connection during the roadtrip this is what I would have said:

"Today I wore my underwear into the the shower. Accidentally"

"Today I saw 20 kangaroos and a dingo"

"Today I ate like a bachelor"

"Today I wasn't eaten by a crocodile. Yet."

"Today I sat in a waterfall"

"Today I saw a spider as big as my toe"

"Who ever said that you can't climb a mountain in fancy Crocs?"

"The Outback: Where outrageous prices are a way of life"

Sunday Shoes: Green Fly London wedges

As I was cleaning out my apartment I discovered I have a rather lot of shoes. Miss Sal from Already Pretty has a series called Sunday Shoes. I've decided to share them to remind myself why I love them, the stories behind them and as an archive of the ones I've had to say goodbye to.

Fly London wedges, from Office, London, England

I bought these shoes after only a few days of living in England. They were much cheaper than Fly London shoes in Canada. I wore them to a job interview and got the job so I'm pretty sure they are good luck!

Still in Melbourne

These are some old photos of our last couple of weeks in Melbourne. Which I forgot about... or didn't have sufficient internet to deal with. I can't remember.

I do remember that we walked into the city in search of wine by the river and cheap dumplings.
We walked past the art gallery where they have a water wall...

I had to splash it mightily.

Then we wandered around Fed Square where you can see and be seen. I just wanted to remind myself that I was actually here once.

Today I am thankful for small walks and most especially cheap delicious Asian dumplings. Especially since I'm starving as I write this!!!

Meanwhile...

I  disappeared for a while.

Mostly because I was finishing my job at the Diner.
Giving away 7 pairs of leggings and 4 black tank tops.
Packing all my stuff.
Flying from Melbourne to Darwin.
Hiring a campervan.
Driving through the Outback.
Seeing kangaroos.
Being silently watchful at Uluru.
Walking through gorges.
Hiking up hills.
Boiling up cheap noodles.
Eating PB&J sandwiches.
Paying $2.40 / litre for gas!!!!
Swimming under waterfalls.
Booking into overfull hostels.
Having no internets and little mobile coverage.

There will be stories.
There will be photos.
As soon as internet is stable, accommodation is sorted for more than a few nights. And hopefully a job is had...

Today I am thankful for adventure!!!

Sunday Shoes: Fly London Sock boot

As I was cleaning out my apartment I discovered I have a rather lot of shoes. Miss Sal from Already Pretty has a series called Sunday Shoes. I've decided to share them to remind myself why I love them, the stories behind them and as an archive of the ones I've had to say goodbye to.

Fly London Sock boots from ebay

On the never-ending search for the perfect boot I bought these off ebay. They were not the perfect boot. Not even close. The sock, while very cute, made the boot even tighter than it already was and the zipper didn't go all the way to the top. I took them to a cobbler but they wouldn't put a full zipper in for fear that they would ruin the boot... I don't really wear them, sadly.

Sunday Shoes: Anne Michelle heels

As I was cleaning out my apartment I discovered I have a rather lot of shoes. Miss Sal from Already Pretty has a series called Sunday Shoes. I've decided to share them to remind myself why I love them, the stories behind them and as an archive of the ones I've had to say goodbye to.

Anne Michelle heels from Strawberry in NYC

I love these shoes for their height, the ribbon tie, and the little cut outs. I actually had a massive dance off with my cousin at a bar. We were breaking in down in the middle of a circle and got a round of applause when we high fived at the end...

Walkies

The Gentleman Caller is back from his work roadtrip! And I happened to have the next day off work! We went for breakfast, walked around, hung out...

jacket: Ricki's
scarf: ??
Dress: City Chic
leggings: Target
boots: Target

We tried to go to the museum but it was too late in the day to be worthwhile. So we did what we do best: had a beer and played some cards...

Today I am thankful for homecomings and relaxing.
