Cry a river

One of my favourite books is Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. I read it every year or so and always cry my face off. It's such an interesting, weaving and heartbreaking story about a little boy on a search to understand life after his fathers death in 9-11 and the past family tragedies that have lead to this moment. It gets me every time.

After a long time of wanting to but never being able to make myself, I watched the movie version today. I still have tears in my eyes. We need to take care of each other. The book was better, obviously, and much more intricate. But it's definitely worth watching. And absolutely, absolutely worth reading...

Now to spend the rest of the day recovering.

I can't bring myself to read anything sad, or watch anything sad. I have only heard amazing things about this book!
I loved this book so much that it was the first book I picked to teach. It's an intense, moving, and riveting read and full of riddles and meaning. :)
