Good Friday

I generally enjoy the Easter season. It's spring time and usually sunny. It's about rebirth and new life. And it's much less stressful than Christmas. My family always goes to church with my grandparents and then out for all you can eat salad bar and fish dinner. The church service is always long and I'm prepared for that. This year however was a huge shock. The service was given by a priest that we've never seen before and it was horrible. It was all fire and brimstone and everyone is going to hell! We felt that it was hurtful, offensive and not the right sermon for Easter or the message that the church has been delivering in the last 50 years. Anyways... it was an eye-opener...

After dinner the Gentleman Caller and I went to a fundraiser at a dodgy arcade called Wonderland. It was an all you can play for $10! Lots of our friends were there and I worked off my salad dinner playing some classic Dance Dance Revolution and air hockey!

Yes, that is my back alley where I can place bags of cans and glass recycling and it will be gone within a half hour. And no, I did not wear this to play DDR. Shockingly enough. Also I had my FBFF all ready to go this Friday but when I went to link it to Katy's page it turns out I did the wrong week... huh.

Today I am thankful that I have a faith in a God that is good and kind and loving and that I believe that the religion I was brought up with is one piece of the puzzle that is the Creator. And that I'm interested in and appreciate other religions so that I'm able to gain insight on other pieces of the puzzle as well.

I once went to a friend's church for Easter service and the minister spent three hours preaching about the evils of alcohol, abortion, and America. Completely inappropriate for the day.

You look like an Easter egg!

I love your saturated colors today! I haven't been to an arcade in FOREVER and now I want to go! I love air hockey! Hmm, that is a weird sermon to pick for Easter! I'm happy to report the church service I attended was very uplifted and featured a live baby lamb! Which surprisingly did not poop!

Hehe, I so love DDR. I used to play it all the time. We were slackers and didn't go to church this year...

I love your bright blue cardi, it's so pretty!

I really, really dislike messages like the one you describe. Let's hope it was just a one-time event.

It's so great to see you taking photos outside, no matter if it's in the alley or not! I love the effect of the wide belt with this outfit and how you've worked these shades of blues over that dress. :)

Usually we are on the road to a family gathering on Good Friday, but since it was at my parents this year, we had the opportunity to go. Aiyee! Definitely not the cheery Easter Sunday message I'm used to!

I love the magical disappearing recycle of Regina.

I was actually going to ask, "did you wear THAT to DDR?" because if you did, you must be a TOTAL PRO!!!! I love DDR. I used to be sooo addicted, I played until I lost 20 lbs. (which I gained back after the game got old.) hahaha!
