In the circumstances
I really upsets me when clients lie to me to get what they want. And I understand that it is a survival skill for some or just normal practice to get things done in different cultures. But on days when I haven't slept the night before I do not like spending 10 minutes explaining why I can't do what they want me to and asking questions only to discover that "out of the house shopping" really means "not actually arrived in Canada yet".
Today I'm thankful for potatoes. I mean, they are perfect vessels for any topping. Tonight is new garden potatoes with a garam masala basil cream sauce! (I made it up because I'm trying to use up my spices. It may be terrible.)
EDIT: The potatoes are not bad, a little strange, but not bad at all!
Also has anyone ever watched Coupling? The original English version? Absolutely brilliant...
There is absolutely nothing interesting about this outfit. Except perhaps that the whole thing including hair and makeup (such as they are) took 15 mins to throw together... Then I went back to bed for a 1/2 hour!
dress: Joe Fresh
sash: Gap
scarf: ??
necklace: one of those stores that carries lovely things from countries like Bangladesh and similar
broach: from a Ricki's top
glasses: Prada
shoes: Teva

Ahem:
"That’s the sock gap. Miss it, and suddenly you’re a naked man in socks. No self-respecting woman will ever let a naked man in socks do the squelchy with her."
"I need breasts with brains. I don’t mean individual brains, obviously... I mean, not a brain each. You know, I like intelligent women, but you’ve got to draw the line somewhere."
"I never use my tongue on people! It's just for stamps and emergencies!"
Chelsie and I watched the entire first season in one go, and I don't think I ever laughed so hard.
We're not trying to finish our spices (we have 25 different containers - that would just be a bit too intense for us!), but we're working on other items. Could be an interesting few weeks - we ran out of olive oil today, a staple we tend to always use!
Any outfit that can be thrown on in 15 minutes and result in an extra 30 minutes of sleep in awesome in my book.
Potatoes are good vessels, aren't they? I like 'em with sour cream, cheese and bacon. Mmmm bacon.
I've tried watching Coupling a couple of times, and though I think it's hilarious, my husband isn't a fan. He's the same with other BBC shows that I lurve :(

Coupling is going to be my show for 2011 since it's on Netflix.
Sorry about the clients who lie. Some people just do. When I worked in a doctor's office a lady insisted that I bump another patient and squeeze in her "very sick baby." She showed up and it turned out to be her 19-year-old son who'd thrown up the day before.
I like how the hot pink rose picks up on the warmer colors in the scarf. It's just so pretty.
